Stops metal and rigid plastic pipes from freezing down to -40°F — built-in thermostat automatically turns heating on when pipe temperature is below 42.8° F (close to freezing) and turns heating off once pipe is warmed to 55.4° F (well above freezing). A single 60 foot heating cable is suitable for 60 foot pipes that are 3/8 inches to 3/4 inches in diameter, or for 60 foot long pipes that are 1 to 1-1/2" in diameter. NOTE: Use only for water filled plastic (including PEX) or metal pipes. Not for use with anything else, like empty water pipes, fuel lines, hoses, gutters, steam lines, and so on. Pre-assembled, easy to install using the included instructions.
