The IBI Scientific BBULS0001 Belly Button benchtop analog shaker uses universal voltage (94 to 240V AC) at speeds between 0 to 100rpm, and has an adjustable tilt angle, a thin, flat power cord, a chemically-resistant acrylic platform, and a white, non-skid silicone mat. A pitch control collar, located beneath the acrylic platform, can be turned to adjust the pitch of the platform between 0 to 8 degrees. This pitch, along with the flexibly anchored corners, provides an undulating motion. The platform is made of chemically-resistant 3/8" cast acrylic for long life and no rusting or discoloration. The open sides accommodate over-size containers. A thin, flat, power cord passes through incubator door gasket without compromising the internal environment. This shaker can be used in incubators with high humidity and in cold rooms. The 12V DC brushless motor provides cool operation and long life. The shaker comes with a white, non-skid silicone mat that is easily removed for cleaning. The shaker also comes with a 7 x 7 inches (W x D) black, urethane mat with parallel rows of "fingers" to hold tubes between 10 to 50mL. (W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) Applications for this shaker include cell culture growth, immunoprecipitation, hybridizations, amplification of cDNA libraries, Western blotting and membrane rinsing, and staining/destaining gels.SpecificationsSpeed0 to 100rpmTilt angle0 to 8 degreesCapacity5lb.Operating temperature0 to 60˚COperating relative humidity97% non-condensingElectrical requirements94 to 240V ACPlatform dimensions7 x 7 inches (W x D)Shaker dimensions5.25 x 8 x 8 inches (H x W x D)Weight5lbs.H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.Laboratory shakers agitate liquids during laboratory procedures. These devices can be analog or digital and are typically an automated, electrically powered, countertop unit that shakes liquid in lab containers, such as flasks, funnels, or test tubes. Some shakers can operate inside fume hoods, incubators, refrigerators, or other laboratory devices, and can include controls for the frequency and/or degree of movement. The types of shakers include: orbital, rocking, rolling, rotating, and wrist action. The most common orbital shaker provides a smooth, continuous, circular motion, sometimes with a tilt angle, for uniform mixing of contents. The rocking shaker creates gentle uniform mixing with a see-saw, or up and down, motion. Reciprocating, or rolling, shakers provide a horizontal side-to-side motion with simple agitation of samples. A rotating, or rotisserie, shaker provides samples with a rotating action that moves in a circular motion. Wrist-action shakers duplicate the effect of hand mixing with "arms" on each side of the unit. Some shakers have the ability to incubate or refrigerate samples while providing shaking action.IBI Scientific manufactures laboratory equipment such as shakers, rockers, and rollers.
