At the helm, determine where the tactile key pad will be installed, locate the supplied switch template, and secure to helm. Cut a circular opening using a 2 1/16” (5.24 cm) hole saw (Hole must be 2 1/16”). Before cutting, make sure the area inside the helm is clear of wires and other equipment that could be damaged. 2. Place the key pad & wiring into 2 1/16” hole, feed wires through bezel nut and hand tighten the key pads bezel nut onto the backside of helm. 3. Each switch kit has a retractor wire (orange) that must be connected to an on/off power source. The tabs retract to the up position when power, or analog signal is removed, and then shuts the system down into stand-by mode. Orange Wire Connection Options Connect to Key switch or ON/OFF power source. Do not install the orange wire and main power on the same mechanical switch.
